HistoryEstablished in 1986 as Paula Brekke School of Dance, the dance studio opened as a sole proprietorship with Paula Brekke as the only instructor in Des Moines, Iowa. Over the years, it gained other instructors, and expanded its scope of dancers. Once dancers began competing, Paula Brekke School of Dance dancers were known for their tumbling and at these competitions, people began to refer to it as Paula Brekke School of Dance and Tumbling: PSODAT! Years Later, Matt Brekke graduated from college and in order to incorporate him and his sister into the company, it was renamed to Brekke Dance Center and was re-established as a Limited Liability Company. Brekke Dance Center is now a dance studio that holds two locations, one in Greater Des Moines, Iowa and one in Grimes, Iowa.
