Waldorf College was founded by pastor C. S. Salveson in 1903. The college offers accelerated bachelors degree programs in various subjects, including biology, business, English, history, music, humanities, physical science and chemical engineering, psychology, theatre arts, journalism, multimedia, public relations and radio production. It also offers associate degrees in business and arts, as well as adult degree program. The college has men s and women s team for several sports, including baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, wrestling, softball, volleyball and cheerleading. Waldorf College is a member of the Midwest Classic Conference and offers athletic scholarships to student-athletes. The college has been the recipient of large donations from the John K. Hanson family, founders of recreation vehicle-maker Winnebago Industries. Its bookstore provides a range of merchandise, such as imprinted and general clothing, jackets, polos, sweatshirts and women s clothing, as well as textbooks. Waldorf College is governed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is located in Forest City, Iowa.
