Tanager Place is a private, nonprofit organization, which provides services to children and families challenged by social and psychological needs. Its main campus is located in southwest Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This 24-acre campus includes residential units, psychiatric units, intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded, recreational facilities, volleyball court, softball diamond, walking trail, playground, basketball hoops, tennis courts, gymnasium and administrative facilities. Tanager Place also operates the Katz Center, a clinic and school, as well as the Lund Educational Center and Joe & Natalie Cohn Expressive Arts House. Tanager Place offers community-based programs to children and families throughout Iowa. It serves hundreds of children and families in more than 45 Iowa counties. Tanager Place is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services and licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
