Public Space One, a progressive nonprofit art space located on the lower level of the Jefferson Building, was created to promote interest in the arts throughout the community. It consists of an art gallery, a performance space, a music venue and a reading and writing room. The gallery hosts monthly exhibitions featuring local, national and international artists. Local and national musicians, theater performers and speakers perform in the theater space; entry fees do not exceed $5. Public Space One is staffed by artists and volunteers.
