Prairie High School, established in 1954, is a public school offering educational instruction to students in grades nine through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students and is a part of the College Community School District. It has an eight-period schedule that provides faculty and students with flexibility and variety for teaching techniques. The school also features a teacher advisor program to personalize each student's high school experience by assisting the student to establish a connection between school and life. It offers classes in various subjects that include English, art, business, family and consumer science, industrial technology, physical education and information technology. The school colors are black and orange and its mascot is the hawks. The school has athletic teams in several sports, including soccer, basketball, golf and baseball. Prairie High School is affiliated with the Mississippi Valley Conference and is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
