Ellis begin the van rental business from his home in 2005. He gradually increased his fleet to six vehicles. In2015, he increased his fleet, added two more owners, and moved to a new location in Kalona , now managed by his sister, Julia. Our fleet is currently at 22, hoping to increase by three more before summer. Current owners are Ellis & Hannah Helmuth and Alvin & Julia Kramer. Ellis is an ASE Certified Master Tech and part owner of Kalona Auto Parts and Service . Alvin is an ASE Certified Service Manager and also part owner of Kalona Auto Service & Parts. Ellis is the general manager of Midway Van Rental and does the majority of maintenance & repairs

Our business specializes in 15 passenger van rental. We are a locally & family owned business with a small-town friendliness often not found elsewhere! Our vans have traveled all over the US & Canada. Our customers come from all over southeast/central Iowa. They are primarily used by families, church groups, civic organizations, the Amish & much more. We strive to give our customers a great travel experience. In the summer of 2018, we became an authorized UHaul dealer.
