The history of Holland-Coble Funeral Home dates back before the turn of the 20th century. In May 1900 AB & Susie Siverling purchased the Weickle Furniture & Funeral business in Montezuma. Both of the Siverling's were licensed funeral directors. Mr, Siverling died in 1924 and in December 1929 the business was purchased by S F, Steffy. Mr Steffy died in January 1937. His wife, Florence Steffy then went to mortuary school and received her license in 1938, The first funeral home in Montezuma was established by S F. Steffy in 1931 in the first house east of Break Point. After the war Mrs. Steffy was joined in the business by her son Keith and his wife Jean. They purchased the present location where Holland-Coble Funeral home is located in 1941. In 1947 the Steffy's purchased the Ross Funeral Home also located in Montezuma. In 1983 the the Funeral Home was sold to Craig Watts. The Watts family owned and operated the bussiness until 2008 when it was sold to the current owners Eric Coble and Brent Holland.
