Community Action of Eastern Iowa, formerly known as Iowa East central T.R.A.I.N., provides assistance to more than 25,000 individuals each year in its mission to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty. Based in Davenport, Iowa it is the designated community action agency for Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine and Scott counties in Iowa and offers a variety of programs. The community child care resource and referral program is part of a nationwide network that offers services and support to parents, child care providers, employers and the community. The child and adult care food program is a federally funded program, through the Department of Agriculture, and is available to all registered child development homes. The family development and self-sufficiency program assists families with significant and multiple barriers to reach self-sufficiency.
