Established in 1973, Four Oaks is one of the largest private, nonprofit child welfare and juvenile justice organizations in Iowa. The agency provides services to more than 5,000 people annually from over 90 counties across various Iowa cities. It offers a wide range of services, including prevention programs, community-based and aftercare services, community and after school programs, and residential treatment programs. Its residential treatment program includes the Smith center, residential treatment and youth shelters, sexual abuse treatment and reorientation program, chemical dependency program; a young women's residential treatment center, and youth emergency shelter. Four Oaks is governed by volunteer board of directors from the Cedar Rapids, Marion and Iowa City professional and business communities. Its community-based mental health services provide outpatient individual and family psychotherapy to children and their families who are eligible for behavioral health services. The agency is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
