Founded in 1858, the Scott County Family Y is a community-based organization that offers a variety of health care, recreational and educational programs and services. It provides swimming programs, therapeutic classes and water safety lessons. The organization s therapeutic classes help in improving flexibility, muscle endurance and range of motion and balance. The Scott County Family Y also conducts exercise sessions, sports training classes and weight management workshops. It manages more than 10 sports venues and field sites and is a part of the YMCA. The Scott County Family Y additionally provides camping programs and works in collaboration with the United Way.
