History2012-2013 marks the 100th anniversary of this family business. It began as Farmer's State Bank of Chester, IA in 1913 by W.W. Cray and son Winfield Cray. By about 1930 the bank was sold out and they were strictly and Insurance and Real Estate business. In 1957, Richard Cray (son of Winfield) joined his father selling Insurance and Real Estate. In 1979, eldest son of Richard, Thomas Cray, joined and in 1982 his brother Randall did as well. By this time, the business was officially and Independent Insurance Agency only. A branch opened in LeRoy, MN in 1983 along with new agent Thomas Bye. The company skyrocketed after these three agents joined, and hasn't stopped since.
