History
Three Zaharako brothers travelled to Columbus Indiana in 1900 and opened a candy shop. In 1904, they went to the World's Fair in St. Louis and bought the double sided bar and soda fountains. In 1908, they bought the Welte Orchestrian. In 2006, a local businessman named Tony Moravec bought Zaharakos and saved it from going under. He closed the restaurant and held a grand re-opening in 2009 after years of renovations. Zaharakos has been serving smiles ever since.
