Dr. Wa'el Bakdash received his degree from Damascus University in Syria. His training includes residency at Damascus University, internist hospitalist and ICU/CCU at Omayad Hospital, rotation residency in internal medicine at several hospitals in the United Kingdom, general internist (primary care physician) at Arrawdha Dispensary in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and his residency in internal medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. In 1997, Dr. Bakdash joined Community Hospital Anderson as an internist in a private practice. He was appointed the Chief of Primary Care from 2002-2004. Dr. Bakdash currently sees his own patients and also serves as a hospitalist. Dr. Bakdash is board certified in sleep medicine, internal medicine, and urgent care medicine.
