History
From 2005 to 2008, Dave Colt and Clay Robinson ran the brewhouse at a corporate-owned brewpub in downtown Indianapolis. In 2008, Robinson left to pursue his dream of owning a commercial craft brewery and with the help of his father Omar and investor Andy Fagg, purchased and disassembled a decommissioned 15-barrel brewhouse from Stone Coast Brewing Co. in Portland, Maine. The team cleaned and rebuilt the brewhouse in Indianapolis and in May of 2009, Colt joined Robinson at Sun King's new downtown Indianapolis headquarters. By July 2009 the duo was the toast of Indy's craft beer community, cranking out traditional seasonal and unique specialty beers at an ever-quickening rate. Since our inception Sun King has won multiple medals at the World Beer Cup, the Great American Beer Festival, and the Indiana Brewers Cup.
