Statewide Transfer Ambulance & Rescue, or S.T.A.R., was founded by Sam Peck his wife Linda on April 1st, 1982 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The intent was provide convalescent ambulance transportation for residents of Montgomery County, as no local service existed yet. From its small beginnings, starting with eight crew members and one ambulance, S.T.A.R began to grow.
