The Schererville WasteWater Treatment Plant, located in Northwest Indiana, serves the wastewater needs of approximately 45,000 people in the communities of Schererville and St. John. With a Design Average Capacity of 8.75 million gallons a day and a Peak Design Capacity of 25 million gallons a day, the plant operates 22 sewage lift stations and utilizes various processes to convert wastewater into clean, safe water and biosolids materials used as fertilizers on surrounding farm grounds.
