The Reception Diagnostic Center is an intake facility for men. Operational since 1971, the facility houses more than 655 offenders. It is a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, which is operated by the government of the state of Indiana. The Reception Diagnostic Center employs a staff of over 7,400 people. It houses nearly 26,000 adults and juveniles in up to 28 prison camps and community re-entry facilities. In partnership with the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center, the Indiana Department of Correction operates the Law Enforcement Notification System. In addition, the department administers education and youth and victim services divisions.
