Phi Delta Kappa International, founded in 1906 and located in Bloomington, Ind., is a professional association for educators. It is a member-based association and serves more than 500,000 members in various communities throughout the United States and internationally. The association advocates for public schools, and has a network of more than 650 Phi Delta Kappa chapters in the United States, Canada, and nations in Europe and Asia. It publishes the Phi Delta Kappan, an education journal that sponsors the Phi Delta Kappa and Gallup poll of the public s attitudes toward the public schools event. Phi Delta Kappa International serves practicing teachers, administrators and college educators.
