History
The original school was founded by Curt Jones in 1977, since that time there have been additional dojos established.
Specialties
Marion Indiana's premier martial arts training facility, offering classes in Traditional Okinawan Karate and Kobudo, and Japanese Aiki-Jujutsu and Iaido. The Okinawan Martial Arts Center is a joint dojo between Curt Jones Sensei and Mike Jones Sensei. Curt Jones Sensei began his study of karate in 1967 and founded the Komakai Academy of Karate - Marion in 1977 and the Komakai Academy of Self Defense - Indianapolis in 1993. Mike Jones Sensei began his study of karate in 1977 and was the Chief Instructor for the Komakai Academy of Marion from 1992-1994. He founded the Yushikan Dojo in 1994. Both have come together to offer Marion and Grant County the most comprehensive martial arts education available in the area.
