Founded in 1966, National Government Services administers Medicare under contracts from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This includes the preparation for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The company strives for continuous improvement as a Medicare contractor. National Government Services administers a Part A contract for the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, as well as holds a Part B contract for the states of Indiana and Kentucky. National Government Services also administers the Region B Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier contract for the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Wisconsin. National Government Services operates from its headquarters in Indianapolis.
