Mount Pleasant Township Community School has its office in Yorktown, Ind. The superintendent and a board of school directors administer the district. It is a four-school district, comprised of Pleasant View Elementary School offering classes in grades kindergarten through two, Yorktown Elementary School offering classes in grades three through five, Yorktown Middle School offering classes in grades six through eight, and Yorktown High School offering classes in grades nine through 12. The total enrollment is more than 2,300 students. Its courses follow the requirements of the state education board, and the core subjects include English language arts, science, computer studies, social science and mathematics.
