Founded In 1956, Metropolitan School District of North Posey County comprises South Terrace and North elementary schools, and North Posey Junior and North Posey High schools. It provides classes to more than 1,500 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. It offers a curriculum of various courses, including language art, English, family and consumer sciences, health, industry and technology, mathematics, music, physical education, science, social science and world language. Its guidance department provides academic support and career services. The district also offers a wide range of cocurricular activities, such as drama, dance and theater, and sports activities, such as basketball, tennis, wrestling, soccer, softball and baseball. The Metropolitan School District of North Posey County is under the jurisdiction of the Indiana Department of Education, and is headquartered in Poseyville, Ind.
