North Vernon Police Department
The North Vernon Police Department is a law enforcement agency that protects the lives and properties of citizens and visitors, preserves peace, prevents crime and disorder and guards personal rights and liberty. It coordinates with the Department of Homeland Security. The department undertakes cases related to suicide, drugs and alcohol, and child and elderly abuse. The North Vernon Police Department performs duties related to domestic violence and traffic and parking law enforcement. The department administers the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, which includes the employment of law enforcement officers who maintain a safe educational environment for students, teachers and staff members. It maintains a location in North Vernon, Ind.
