Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis is an urban research and academic health sciences institution. It has more than 20 schools and academic units that grant degrees in over 200 programs from Indiana University and Purdue University. Located in Indianapolis, the university was established in 1969 by a partnership between Indiana University and Purdue University. Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis serves more than 29,000 students. The university offers a variety of programs in medicine, law, dentistry, nursing, social work, and health and rehabilitation science. It additionally provides various educational programs at its affiliate campus in Columbus. Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis offers residential accommodations to more than 1,000 students.
