Comprised of approximately 1,200 sworn officers and 300 civilian employees, the Indianapolis Police Department provides police services to the central portion of Marion County, Ind. The department conducts a large number of programs and service activities beyond patrol and investigation. Major divisions include investigations, traffic enforcement and special units.
