Founded in 1947, the Clay Fire Territory is a full-service fire department that provides fire protection and emergency services for the Clay Township, Indian Village and the Town of Roseland in St. Joseph County, Ind. It has two stations and its equipment consist of trucks, front line pumpers, tankers, grass and light rescue rigs, heavy rescues and various utility vehicles. It employs more than 40 full time and on-call firefighters. The department works in 3 shifts with a captain, lieutenant and 5 firefighters per shift. It has a training facility and mobile children's safety house. The Clay Fire Territory is approved by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.
