History

The Playhouse opened on July 15, 1949 with plays produced by IU Theater Department. It continued as a venue for IU with many loyal attendees until 2010. In 2011, IU gave the Playhouse back to the community. The Playhouse now presents live theater, musical productions, and recent movies using the latest digital movie equipment and Dolby sound.

This is a hidden gem! Great live music venue in the heart of town. Recently saw John Primer and wow, what a show! The Break a Leg bar is the best!

We went to see Andy Gross, good show, the theater is small, not a bad seat in the place, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to find parking really close and for free.
