Founded in 1970, Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nonprofit organization that serves boys and girls between the age group of 8 and 14. The organization offers various activities, such as fun games, zoo visits and baking cookies. It organizes site-based nutrition and educational programs. Big Brothers Big Sisters operates Mentor Training Institute that conducts a variety of training sessions for mentors and volunteers. With a location in Indianapolis, the organization has more than 1,500 volunteers.
