Located in Bluffton, Ind., Bi-County Services, is a nonprofit agency providing various health care services to disabled persons in Adams and Wells counties in Indiana. It provides a variety of programs, such as infant care, and assisted and independent living. Established in 1955, it operates more than five group homes in Berne, Bluffton, and Decatur, Ind. It houses developmentally disabled persons and provides training in self-care, nutrition, health, recreation, leisure, socialization and independent living skills. Through the Employment Connection program it provides job coaching, pre-employment screening and on-the-job training. It additionally offers developmental therapies and nursing services to children with cognitive delays. It also has an industrial division providing employment and vocational training in machining and construction, box and pallet manufacturing, and candle making and crafts. Additionally, it manufactures various products, including, handmade candles, bath and body products, and shipping containers, bases and pallets of hardwood, ply and pine. It also offers subcontractor services, such as cleaning, packaging, sorting, reworking and other labor-intensive services.
