History
B & B Loan was established in downtown Fort Wayne in 1946 by Lloyd Amster. In 1950, he hired Jim Gulley, a 15-year old student, to work at the pawn shop. In 1957, Jim hired in his brother-in-law Charles Warrick. Later in '57, Lloyd Amster passed away at age 54, leaving widowed Mrs. Amster and Jim Gulley as owners. In '69, Mrs. Amster retired; Jim Gulley and Charles Warrick became owners. In 1977, Jim and Charlie moved the B & B Loan from 618 S Calhoun St. to its current location of 612 S Calhoun St. They were partners until 1985, when Charles retired; and the B & B Loan has been a sole Gulley owned business since. Jim Gulley brought his son Jeff into the business in early '77, and Jeff took ownership in 2008. The 3rd generation of Gulley's, Desmond started in 2008; and as of 2017, his brother Dylan is also employed. Jeff's daughter Jessica is responsible for bringing the B & B Loan into the internet age in 2012. She started & maintained the B & B Loan's first website and eBay store!
