Anderson Woods is a private, not-for-profit corporation located in rural Southern Indiana. Founded in 1978, it offers safe and dignified camping opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. With a mission to foster self-esteem and empower individuals with special needs, Anderson Woods provides a unique learning experience in a nature-filled camp setting.
Nestled along the Anderson River, the camp spans 165 acres and welcomes hundreds of campers each summer. From humble beginnings with three campers sleeping in tents, Anderson Woods now offers four cabins for campers of all ages and disabilities. Their aim is to provide self-confidence, dignity, and choices to individuals who are often overlooked, creating a special place for special people.
