The Allen County Highway Department maintains and preserves over 1,335 miles of public roadways, 351 bridges, over 800 culverts, 8551 signs, 24 traffic signals, 300 miles of pavement markings, hundreds of drainage structures and many miles of side ditches along its county roads. Located in Fort Wayne, Ind., the highway department has operations from three different locations. Its North and South maintenance facilities provide the day-to-day maintenance of roads that include berming, patching, mowing, grading, brush cutting and snow/ice removal. Allen County Highway Department is a part of the Allen County Government.
