With a team of about 50 officers, Police Chief Dwight Baird has led this full-service accredited department since 2003. The department is involved in local Character Counts programs, helps parents with proper child safety seat installation by appointment, assists residents with Neighborhood Watch and hosts an Explorer Post program for young adults. The department also includes a K-9 unit, bike patrol, honor guard, citizens police academy, school liaison officers and a traffic control unit.
