The township school treasurer distributes federal and state funds to schools, processes school payroll, pays school bills, reconciles cash from ledgers, and oversees public bonds.
In addition to its school duties, the school treasurer's office processes payroll for the Palos Fire Department and public school insurance cooperatives.
The school treasurer's office is also responsible for maintaining the central computer network system for the township's 15 school districts and acts as a consultant on other matters, such as making referrals for third-party services.
The township school treasurer is appointed by the Worth Township board of trustees.
