The Village of Flossmoor is governed by the Village President, or Mayor, and a six-member Board of Trustees. The Trustees, Mayor, and Village Clerk are elected at-large to four-year terms and the Mayor and Trustees are responsible for setting all policies for the Village as well as enacting municipal laws that govern the Village of Flossmoor.
The Village works to serve the community through the administration of its operations and liaison to the Village Board as well as being responsible for for its finances. In addition, it oversees all building and construction services and the major utilities and infrastructure of the Village, including its water delivery, stormwater and wastewater dispensation, roads, sidewalks, and forestry. It is also responsible for fire prevention and fighting, operating Emergency Medical Services and all safety and emergency activities in the Village.
