Founded in 1993, the Antioch Police Department operates 911 centers in the State of Illinois and provides public safety and crime prevention services. It maintains a telecommunications department that has computer-aided dispatch systems installed in squad cars. The department provides police assistance and emergency care services. The Antioch Police Department has prisoner transport vans, motorcycles and bikes. The department also operates training and holding facilities and a processing area. It provides dispatch services for the police departments of Antioch, Lake Villa and Lindenhurst in Illinois, as well as fire and rescue departments . The Antioch Police Department serves more than 65,000 residents and employs over 10 dispatchers. It also maintains a nearly 13,000-square-foot two-story facility that has a juvenile holding and investigative cell.
