The Villa Park Police Department, established in 1915, maintains social order and peace and provides law enforcement services. It offers services for the protection of residents lives and property, as well as deterrence, detection and investigation of criminal activities. The Villa Park Police Department organizes and supports a variety of community outreach and youth programs, including child restraint checks, mature driver education, citizen surveys, forensics camps, and workplace violence and identity theft seminars. The department supports Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.), which is a law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum that emphasizes immunization against delinquency, youth violence and gang membership. The Villa Park Police Department, located in Villa Park, Ill., employs a staff of more than 35 full-time sworn officers, civilians and community volunteers.
