The Veterans Health Administration in Evanston is open to any veteran who served on active duty in a combat zone and can provide discharge papers, and any veteran who experienced sexual trauma while on active duty. Veterans who are not eligible for the services at the center are also welcome to come in for referrals to other services. The Vet Center helps veterans with a variety of resources including general counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, family therapy and help finding a job. All services are confidential, and according to one employee "what happens in the center stays in the center."
