This post office location, in the heart of downtown Oak Park and right across the street from Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple, was erected in 1936 and is widely regarded as one of the most architecturally striking post offices in the country. Not only is it an aesthetically pleasing place to run some of the day's errands, but it is also practical; the location has surprisingly extensive operating hours and an automated postal center that comes in handy when lines are long. Parking can be limited, however, so it is best to use the postal drop boxes on the east side of the building when pressed for time.
