Des Plaines City Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the city infrastructure, property and equipment. It is a department of the city of Des Plaines in Illinois. The department provides emergency services, such as snow and ice control, flood assistance, and windstorm damage pick up. It has various divisions that include buildings and grounds, forestry, sewers, street maintenance, street special services, water maintenance and meter, vehicle maintenance, and water treatment and pumping. Its vehicle maintenance division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all public works, police department, engineering, fire department, community development and administration vehicles and equipment within the city. Its sewer division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city's sanitary and storm sewers.
