Covenant Christian Schools is comprised of Covenant Elementary and Trinity High School, provides instruction from a Christian worldview and supports Christian families and their churches in educating students. The school was established in 1980 and serves students in kindergarten through grade eight. Trinity High School begun in 1991, and has from its inception offered a college preparatory program, with instruction based upon a Christian philosophy of education. The schools merged in 2000, forming one school system under the name of Covenant Christian Schools. Elementary level students study mathematics, English, writing, reading and phonics, handwriting, science, art, music, Latin, history, geography, spelling, physical education and bible studies. Students use a combination of Christian and secular publishers such as A Beka, ACSI, Bob Jones, Houghton-Mifflin, Saxon Math, and Shurley Method Grammar. Students also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, such as Bible club and athletics. Covenant Christian Schools is located in Carbondale, Ill.
