SpecialtiesJoel Ward has over thirty years' experience in real estate appraisal, brokerage, property management, investment and education. In 2014, former governor Pat Quinn appointed Joel to serve on the State of Illinois Real Estate Appraisal Administration and Disciplinary Board. In that capacity, Joel has gained invaluable knowledge and experience concerning the application of the Real Estate Appraiser License Act and the Rules. For more than a decade, Joel has been active in developing and teaching appraisal continuing education courses. As a practicing appraiser, Joel has a good understanding of recent changes in appraisal standards and guidelines, as well as an appreciation of the practical aspects of being self-employed as a real estate appraiser. Joel has been an Appraisal Qualifications Board Certified USPAP Instructor since 2005, and in addition to working as a real estate appraiser and educator, Joel manages a real estate brokerage and property management firm.
