Founded in 1968, Summit School serves more than 100 students with learning disabilities in preschool through grade 12. The school is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Its academic curriculum includes mathematics, social studies, science, English, reading, writing, art and physical education. Summit School provides guidance counseling services as well as speech, occupational and language therapies. It offers the Curriculum Regarding Everyday Social Themes (CREST) program for students in kindergarten through grade 7. The school additionally provides Secondary Transitional Experience and Extended School Year for the Learning Disabilities programs. Summit School is located in Elgin, Ill.
