St. Peter School has been providing religious and academic education to Geneva-area students since 1958. The Roman Catholic school teaches children from preschool to eighth grade, and educators are certified by the state of Illinois as well as the Rockford Diocese in religious education.
Students traditionally score high in the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. In the first half of the 2009-2010 school year, the average percentile rank of St. Peter School's eighth grade on the National School Norms was 99%.
St. Peter School's mission is to educate children academically, spriritually and morally. Students in grades 1 - 8 celebrate Mass every Friday morning, and students participate in a number of community-service activities.
"We believe that the Catholic School has an active role in the teaching mission of the Catholic Church," the school website says. "We believe in providing our students with opportunities which will develop a community of a faith and service to others."
