Southwestern Illinois College is a two-year college that prepares its students for a career or transfer to a four-year college, and operates three campuses in the state, including one located in Belleville, Ill. Established in 1946, its instruction leads to an associate's degree and a certificate of completion or proficiency. It offers more than 100 university transfer and career programs divided into four divisions, including allied health, public services, industrial technology, business, liberal arts, and math and science. Its courses include art, education, foreign language, journalism, music, history, accounting, computer science, construction carpentry, culinary arts and food management, horticulture and welding technology. Southwestern Illinois College provides various support services, such as course assessment, counseling and course placement.
