A religious congregation, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, was founded in 1869. It serves children, youths and senior citizens, as well as people in need. The organization has locations in Japan, Indonesia, northwestern Brazil, Albania and the Netherlands. The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George organizes community prayers and serves meals.
