The Science Academy was founded in 2007 by a group of business people in the Turkish-American community to provide children a strong science and math curriculum.
The school offers small class sizes and emphasizes participation in science fairs and math-related activities, such as Mathletes. Recently, one student received a perfect score in a Mathletes state competition, according to Principal Serdar Khartal.
In 2009, two students went to the state level of the Illinois Junior Academy of Science-sponsored science fairs.
