The Rockford Symphony Orchestra has been delivering musical performances to the residents of Rockford, Ill., and surrounding areas for more than 70 years. The orchestra is one of the leading cultural institutions in Northern Illinois, and performs more than twenty classical and pop concerts each year. The Rockford Symphony Orchestra was incorporated in 1943 after performing for the community for nine seasons under its first Music Director and Manager, Arthur Zack, who led the orchestra for 27 years. The orchestra continues to entertain audiences and develop future audiences throughout the Rockford Symphony Orchestra s Youth Concerts and KinderKonzert programs. It also provides a wide variety of other educational programs that involve the entire Rockford community. Overall, the Rockford Symphony Orchestra s mission is to enlighten, educate and entertain the people of Northern Illinois through symphonic music performance.
