River Forest Public Works Department
The River Forest Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that offers various police services that include uniformed patrol operations, youth services, and traffic accident investigations and enforcement. It also offers a variety of supplementary services, such as disaster preparedness and response, vacation watch programs, participation with community action groups, crime prevention, drug abuse intervention and traffic pattern analysis. Located in River Forest, Ill., the River Forest Police Department supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. The police department also supports Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.), which is a program of self-defense tactics and techniques for women that begins with awareness, prevention, and risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
