Maywood Child Development Center is a nonprofit, child care facility serving children up to 12 years. It is a service program of Proviso-Leyden Council for Community Action that offers more than 30 programs and services to assists families with housing and energy assistance, youth development, substance abuse issues, adult literacy and job readiness and senior citizens. It provides various support services, such as food and shelter for senior citizens, case management, rehabilitation of family violence victims, and education and training. Maywood Child Development Center focuses on cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of children. Its early head program serves low-income pregnant mothers, children and families in the center and home. The center is located in Maywood, Ill.
